PALM OIL CLARIFIER

The purpose of the Clarifier is to recover a maximum amount of Palm Oil (PO) from its insoluble Non-Oily Solids (NOS) and produce a finished PO that is both clean and dry. 
The Finished PO should have a dirt content of not more than 0.02% and a moisture content of not more than 0.01%. The Clarifier consists of an inner boiling compartment surrounded by an outer settling compartment. The PO is boiled vigorously with water before being allowed to settle in the inner compartment. Once settled it is decanted into the bottom of the outer settling compartment. From here it is allowed to overflow into a Heat Exchanger / Dryer before transferring via a Calibrated Tank to the preferred method of storage or packaging.
